Patrick is a shareholder in the firm directing our accounting and auditing services. He works with closely-held and family-owned businesses providing advisory services in a wide variety of industries including, construction, distribution, and manufacturing. He assists clients in a myriad of projects such as successful acquisitions and divestitures, internal financial reporting to provide concise relevant information to shareholders, budgeting and projections, and recruiting senior financial team members. He also advises our not-for-profit organizations on many issues such as cost allocations, non-profit charity status, charter school guidelines, etc. Patrick also oversees our employee benefit plan audit practice.
Patrick has conducted seminars for groups about issues facing businesses, including fraud, cash flow planning, and managing business risk. He also conducts training for our staff providing updates on recent Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) activities, audit risk, etc. He stays current with accounting issues and regulations issued by FASB, GASB, and the Department of Labor (DOL) through our memberships in the American Institute of CPA’s Governmental Audit Quality Center, Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center, and Private Company Practice Section. Membership in these centers requires we meet certain guidelines. They provide us with the most current information and serve as a resource for researching complex accounting issues.
Patrick is active in community affairs having served on various non-profit boards of directors in leadership capacities. During his tenure on boards, he has been involved with many interesting and challenging projects, including the merger of two large social service agencies, successfully assisted an organization with examination by the IRS, facilitated an evaluation and restructuring of an accounting department and its systems, and interviewing and recruiting executives. He currently is a member of the Executive Committee and is the Treasurer of the Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce. In 2007, Patrick was named by Business West Magazine as one of the “Forty Under 40”. This list recognized some of the region’s brightest young community leaders.
Patrick has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for over 25 years. He is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA). He obtained his M.B.A. from the University of Massachusetts and a B.A. in Accounting from Fairfield University. During his studies at Fairfield, he attended the University of Salzburg, Austria as well as the Berlitz School of Languages in Munich, Germany.
